The BETA SAVE™ Retail Upgrade Programme is an inclusive and scalable initiative designed to modernize and formalize retail outlets in townships and rural areas. This program enables spaza shops to transform into branded, independently-owned, sustainable stores, supported by a co-owned local wholesaler, all while preserving their community identity and autonomy.
Our scalable business models provide estimates of the costs associated with upgrading your store to each desirable format. These costs will decrease depending on the assets each individual store owner has. The expenses encompass the business plan, refurbishment (if applicable), containers (if required), business equipment and machinery, stock, branding, and working capital. All payments are made directly to approved and accredited suppliers and service providers. We also assist our members in applying for funding from government institutions and the private sector to help finance the upgrades.
